Virtual Events Help Runners Maintain Their Fitness Goals

The team at Front Runner Events are pleased to announce that following the launch of their very first virtual event that took place during April, almost 800 runners took part. The Great Welsh races that includes a half and full marathon was planned to take place in the beautiful Pembrey Country Park but was postponed like hundreds of others around the UK due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.

As every runner knows, there is nothing like the real event, lining up at the start with everyone else who has trained incredibly hard. But, with races being postponed and in some cases being cancelled, this left organisers and runners feeling disappointed. That is the reason why the Front Runner team felt it was important to offer their runners a tangible goal by offering a virtual event.

With a global reach of 26 countries, the Great Welsh Virtual Races really have been a hit with runners, as far afield as Australia, Canada and India. So runners will be pleased to know that since closing the race, the team have launched a special edition VIRTUAL EVENT commemorating the Frontline workers.

David Martin-Jewell, race director said:

“We are delighted to be able to show our gratitude and respect for all our FRONT LINE WORKERS, and to celebrate these heroes we have created this special edition virtual event. We hope that it will help our runners to maintain their fitness, set goals and achieve their targets without the added pressure of chasing PB’s. This event is open to all ages and abilities so I’m delighted we can offer this for everyone to be part of.

“There are so many people around the world who have continued to work tirelessly and sometimes in unfavourable conditions, to ensure we could all stay home safely. It is for these HEROES that we created the Front Runner for the Frontline Challenge.”
